If you’ve paid attention, you’ll know that Baby Chester celebrated his first birthday back in October. But the poor kid didn’t get much of a celebration, if I’m honest. At the time, I was still recovering from surgery, and we were only a few days from moving into our new house. As such, for the last two months I’ve been feeling SUPER guilty about the lack of fuss we made of him for his big day.
So when I got the chance to work with Chuck E Cheese’s and host a birthday party for my baby boy, I was thrilled. After all, we’ve celebrated the older two boys’ birthdays at Chuck E. Cheese’s for the last three years! It’s the number one party destination for the preschool crowd. And since Chester’s nickname is Chuck, it was kind of a no-brainer to return there yet again!
Booking a party is super easy. We just go online and pick the date and time, order up the party package for the number of kids attending (in our case it was 8 little ones!), and add in any extras like cake, ice cream, and food or drinks for the adults. You can obviously order a la carte once you get there if there are any last minute surprises, but booking online is SO simple.
As usual, the party itself was fantastic. Our hostess did a great job making sure we had everything we needed, taking care of last minute orders (one of the families who attended were vegetarians so we had to order a meat-free pizza!) and letting us know how long before Chuck E Cheese himself came out!
The kids all had a blast. Besides my three, we had four cousins and Chester’s BFF, Ira, who is only a couple of weeks his elder. The party package came with tons of game tokens for each kid, as well as bonus coins for the party and even more bonus coins for ordering online! The kids couldn’t possibly use them all, so it was great that the adults all got to go play, too!
Chuck E Cheese’s is known for its awesome indoor playground. There are video games, slides, skeeball machines, VR machines, photo booths and tons of rides suitable for every age! Chuck had a blast riding the train, while the older kids ran around trying out every different machine.
There were big screens all around, showing cartoons, music videos and more. The adults all took great pleasure in dancing along to the Chuck E dance!
The food was marvelous, I must say. The party package allows for two slices of pizza per child, and we got them pepperoni as it seemed the best option. For the adults we got an amazing gourmet pizza (the Cali Alfredo) spinach, mushrooms, sausage and grilled chicken! YUM! We also got a veggie platter and a tray of appetizers, which featured cheesy breadsticks, fries and boneless sweet chili wings!
Cake and ice cream were ordered up, and that was fun, as Chester’s never had them before. Chuck E Cheese’s even came out to lead the crowd in a Happy Birthday song and dance for all the kids.
The birthday child is supposed to get 30 seconds in the ticket blaster machine, where he can grab as many tickets as he can. Chester was still a little too young, so we let Dexter hop in and have a go. He managed to get nearly 1500 tickets, allowing them to trade them in for a new toy. He had a “blast.”
All in all, it was a tremendous way to celebrate our little guy’s big day, even if it was two months late!
It seemed like every guest had their own memory of parties at Chuck E. Cheese’s. It’s a place we all grew up with, and it continues to be a place we make new family memories each year. I have no doubt that we’ll be back there in a couple of months when Dexter and Daniel have their birthdays.
If you’re looking for a great venue with awesome food, plenty for the kids to do, stellar service and NO CLEANUP, I highly suggest you head over and book yourself in for a party. You won’t regret it!
