I love using photos to decorate my house. I take thousands of photos a month (many of them on Instagram), and rather than have them sit on my hard drive, I love printing them out and displaying them around our home. It really gives the feeling of family.
A while back, I ordered some tiny little prints from Printstagram, as they are 48 for $15. Not bad! I think I wound up printing close to 300, though… so I had quite a lot of them. Since they are so small, I had to think about what I wanted to do with them. I don’t have tiny frames, and I’m not a huge fan of collages. So after a while, I decided to create some bunting.
I had a ton of colorful little tiny clothes pins in my craft storage, so I dragged them out and used them with a bit of colored twine.
They are only about an inch tall, and sadly several of them broke while I was hanging pictures because they are very dainty little things. But I had enough to create a long garland of bunting on three different walls.
It’s such a cute effect, and it dresses up the house that little bit more. They mainly are in our foyer, so they are the first things you see when you enter the house.
It’s such a great way of displaying tons of really cute photos without wasting frames or taking up too much room. And you can easily change them out for different ones when you get tired of them.
It’s such a unique way to add some life to your home, and I’m so happy with the result. I put these up about three months ago, and I still find myself walking slowly down the hallway to look at each photo with a smile on my face. I like putting Dan on my shoulders and letting him get a good look, too.
Have you got an interesting photo display idea? What do you think of instagram bunting? Is his something you would ever do?
