Disney/Pixar ONWARD Printable Coloring Pages and Activity Sheets
I’m so excited, I can’t breathe! I feel like I was waiting FOREVER for Disney/Pixar to release the movie ONWARD in theaters, and I couldn’t wait to take my boys to see it. Every time I saw the previews, I got more and more excited. It appealed to every part of me – a mom of boys who loves all things magical!
Amazingly, I managed to take three of my four boys to see it two weeks ago when it first premiered, and I genuinely loved it, as did they. I was blown away by how good it was. I laughed and cried, and I was actually totally surprised by how different it was from what I expected.
While it had the big father/son tones that I anticipated, the real story was in the idea of brotherhood. AND don’t get me started on the power of a mother’s love. Whew! It was amazing. The film premiered in theaters on March 6th and earned rave reviews from audiences, including a 95% Verified Audience Score on RottenTomatoes.
And NOW, with all the topsy-turviness of the world and the fact that everyone is stuck in their homes for the foreseeable future, The Walt Disney Studios announced today that Disney and Pixar’s ONWARD will be available to buy digitally and on Movies Anywhere beginning today at 5:00pm PST/ 8:00pm EST and on Disney+ on April 3rd in the U.S.
That’s a BIG huge SQUEEEEE coming out of our house! I can’t wait for my hubby and our littlest man to get to watch it.
“While we’re looking forward to audiences enjoying our films on the big screen again soon, given the current circumstances, we are pleased to release this fun, adventurous film to digital platforms early for audiences to enjoy from the comfort of their homes,” said Dan Scanlon (Director, “Onward”) and Kori Rae (Producer, “Onward”).
In case you don’t know about Onward, here’s a little synopsis to get you caught up.
In ONWARD, teenage elf brothers Ian and Barley Lightfoot (voices of Tom Holland and Chris Pratt) get an unexpected opportunity to spend one more day with their late dad, embarking on an extraordinary quest aboard Barley’s epic van Guinevere.
Like any good quest, their journey is filled with magic spells, cryptic maps, impossible obstacles and unimaginable discoveries. But when the boys’ fearless mom Laurel (voice of Julia Louis-Dreyfus) realizes her sons are missing, she teams up with a part-lion, part-bat, part-scorpion, former warrior – aka The Manticore (voice of Octavia Spencer) – and heads off to find them.
Perilous curses aside, this one magical day could mean more than any of them ever dreamed.
I promise, this is one film that any family will absolutely adore. It’s funny, it’s beautiful, it is emotional, and it will remind you all about the power of family and love.
To get you even more excited, Disney/Pixar have shared with me these AMAZING activities and coloring pages that are absolutely FREE and perfect for you to print out and give to your kids. Each of the main characters are represented – and there is even a super awesome matching game that you can use over and over again!
I highly suggest printing the matching game on card stock for durability and/or laminating the cards so that they will last a long time. This can be great for keeping the kiddos happy during this long period of social-distancing, and it will help sharpen their skills as schools are shut.
