How to Throw an Allergy-Friendly Halloween Party

How to throw an allergy friendly halloween party.

Wanting to throw a Halloween party this year but suffer from allergies, know someone who does, or live with someone who does? Have no fear! You can still throw an excellent allergy friendly Halloween party that everyone will love and appreciate!

1. Create different snack tables.
Not only is this a great way to separate food items with potential allergens, but you can do something creative with it and theme the tables! It sets up a great way to incorporate some of your favorite Halloween decor and your guests will love to walk around sampling all of the delicious treats! If you have a pot luck for your Halloween party, just ask that people put their food on the appropriate table, and when you initially send out the pot luck information, ask if there are any people who would be willing to make or buy allergy friendly treats and food, or let them know you’ll be buying or making some yourself!

2. Consider an allergen-free party.
If you have severe allergies or know someone that does that is unable to even be in the same room with something they’re allergic to, consider just asking people not to bring that food at all. Some allergies like peanut allergies are so severe that they can’t even be near the person. Ultimately, it should be pretty easy to accommodate for allergies this way because most people are willing to bring something everyone can eat!

3. Host a costume contest.
Whether you’re having an allergy friendly Halloween party or not, hosting a costume contest is one of the best ways to get everyone involved and having fun! You’ll love to see what creative costume ideas your guests come up with and everybody will go all out if they know there’s a contest with a prize to be won!

4. Add some Halloween music!
Everybody loves some old school Halloween music. Pop on Pandora and let the Halloween music fill the night! This adds a great ambience to any Halloween party, but especially your awesome allergy friendly Halloween party!

5. Go all out with your decor.
Every Halloween party deserves awesome Halloween decor. Whether you’re doing DIY decor or buying some from your favorite party store, hosting a Halloween party is all about being festive! Your guests will love the spooky decor and your hard work will totally pay off!

Ultimately, having an allergy free Halloween party is no different than a regular Halloween party, but the snacks are a little different! Spending quality time with friends and family and celebrating Halloween can be extremely fun!

  1. These are very useful tips! Thank you 🙂 We have many friends who are gluten-intolerant, or allergic to dairy and peanuts. This will help me get my mind around how to entertain everyone’s palate and still have fun!
