About three months ago, baby Chester started getting dry patches on his feet and arms. Over the course of a few days, they turned into these horrible scaly bits that would ooze and bleed. They scabbed over, and his poor little feet looked like he’d been walking through piles of glass. It was horrible, and I wasn’t sure what to do.
I suspected it was eczema, as I have been afflicted with it since I was a baby, but it wasn’t presenting the same way. It came in these little circular patches. I posted photos of it to social media asking for input, and many folks advised it might be Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. I was not convinced, but just in case, I took him to the doctor. She verified my own suspicions, naming it as “Nummular Dermatitis” or “Discoid Eczema.” She suggested keeping it moisturized and even using topical steroid creams. But I wanted something a little more gentle on his skin.
Weleda has been developing plant-based medicines and natural cosmetic products since 1921. They focus on quality – from the selection of raw materials to the finished holistic product. Their Baby Derma White Mallow Collection is dermatologically tested, fragrance-free and soothing to the most highly sensitive skin. The only scent is from the natural ingredients within.
It features white mallow extract, pansy extract, coconut oil, borage seed oil and sweet almond oil, all melded together to calm irritated skin and strengthen its own natural protective barrier. It is 100% certified natural by the European association NaTrue. They won the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance.
After nearly two months of using these products, Chester’s feet are looking so much better and healthier. They are soft and show nothing of the scabbing or dryness of before. We have even used the products on my husband’s skin as he has recently developed the same discoid eczema, and it is starting to work on him, as well.
