How to Make Mickey Mouse Cocoa Bombs
Ingredients:
- 2 oz chocolate candy melts almond bark or melting wafers
- 1 oz red candy melts
- 1 Tbsp hot cocoa mix
- 7-10 mini marshmallows
- 1 tsp coconut oil (optional)
- holiday sprinkles, optional
Equipment:
- Parchment Paper
- 2 oz disposable cups
- Xacto Knife
- Piping bag
- Scissors
- Cutting board
- Small microwaveable bowls
- Colorful paper straws or Cake pop sticks (cut into thirds)

To begin, melt down the chocolate wafers as per package instructions, being careful not to overheat them. If it is too thick, add a small amount of coconut oil to achieve a pourable consistency.
On a cutting board, place your plastic cups upside down and cut a line down the side of the cup with an X-Acto knife or scissors.

Pour melted chocolate into the cup, twisting to ensure full coverage. Turn the cup upside down on parchment paper to allow excess chocolate to drip off. You can also choose to simply fill the cup with chocolate halfway up for a different variation.
Either way, be sure to get a thick coat of chocolate on the inside, as if it is too thin, it will crack.

Freeze the cup for 7-9 minutes to set. Then remove from the freezer and add 1 Tbsp of hot cocoa mix.

Pour the melted red chocolate on top, filling it to about 3/4th full. Return it to the freezer for 18-25 minutes to harden.

Place the cup on your cutting board, and make small slits all around the rim of the cup. Gently peel back the plastic to reveal the chocolate inside.

Once released, add a small amount of chocolate to the top, and decorate with mini marshmallows, colorful straws and sprinkles. Use the melted red chocolate in a piping bag to add red sprinkles and extra marshmallows.

Take two of the chocolate wafers and add them to one side of the cup to create Mickey Mouse ears.

Return once more to the freezer for a final set, approximately 7-8 minutes.
That’s it! You have made your amazing Mickey Mouse Cocoa Bombs!

Notes
The fastest way to melt the chocolate is by using really hot milk.
Troubleshooting Guide
It cracks when unmolding:
If just the top of it breaks you can hide it, smooth it out, add more melted chocolate, and top with marshmallows.
The shell breaks completely no way to save it?
Melting it back down and try again.
This had about a 90% success rate. The more you do the better they are. Depending on your chocolate medium (melting wafers, candy melts, or almond bark) some cups will be thicker than others and more sturdy.
