Mickey Mouse Cupcakes

Mickey Mouse is one of my favorite characters of all time. And when I decided to make some Disney cupcakes a while back, I knew I wanted to make them Mickey Mouse cupcakes. These ones are simple to make and easy to decorate, and they are perfect for a Disney birthday party or any special occasion.

Mickey Mouse Cupcakes

To all who come to this happy place: Welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.

Here’s what you’ll need for these homemade Mickey Mouse Cupcakes:

2/3 C unsalted butter, soft
1 2/3 C sugar
3 eggs
2 C flour
2/3 C cocoa powder
1 1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 1/3 C  whole milk
1 pack mini Oreos

Mickey Mouse Cupcakes

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and then line your cupcake pan with paper liners.

Combine the flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa powder in one bowl. In another, cream together the butter with sugar until it is light and creamy. Add in one egg at a time, beating after each addition.

Add 1/3 of the dry ingredients and 1/3 of the milk into the creamed mixture. Beat until smooth and then add another third and the final third beating between each.

Scoop the batter into the lined cupcake tins and bake for 20 – 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Cool in the cupcake pan for 10 minutes, and then remove from cupcake pan and cool on wire rack.

Choose your favorite frosting recipe and frost the top of your cupcakes in a nice swirl. I used a nice vanilla cream frosting, but the chocolate would be great, too.

Add two little mini Oreo cookies to either side of the frosting to create Mickey’s “ears.”

You can use a glue gun to glue two little buttons onto the front of a red cupcake liner to be Mickey’s pants.
