I am a girl who LOVES a good makeover. My favorite chick flicks are the ones that feature montages of some cute girl getting to try on clothes and different hairstyles to find what makes her feel good. So when I was contacted by BabbleBoxx to try out some great new products and give a review, I could NOT wait!
Sometimes as a mom of four, I get caught up in the day to day grind and can’t really figure out how to make time for myself. I don’t always feel my best in my clothes, and I am usually running around in flip-flops or whatever old sneakers I can find. So getting a chance to update a few of my accessories was fantastic.
Let’s start with my new shoes! I must have dozens of pairs of shoes in my closet, and my husband gives me grief about having so many, but every gal knows that shoes can MAKE an outfit. Someone once told me that you spend half your life in bed and the other half on your feet, so you should always invest in great shoes and a great mattress. I couldn’t agree more!
These Earth Brand Shoes are totally amazing. Not only are they super cute, but they are some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn!
I got the Zinnia shoes in Blush and the Blaze in Olive. For me, they feel totally decadent. I have flat feet, and finding shoes with good arches can be difficult. But both styles have reinforced arch support, and they are comfortable all day long! This is obviously important since I’m running around after four little boys all day!
These shoes are totally on trend, AND they plant a tree with every purchase (in partnership with Trees.org), so you know you’re doing something good with your money!
Next up was the Maidenform Sexy Shapewear Strapless Convertible Body Briefer. I’ll admit that I am a woman who wears a lot of shapewear. I am not ashamed of it. I feel better when my body is being hugged a bit, and it helps me with my bad back, as well. So believe me when I say I know what a good body briefer should feel like.
This one was super comfortable. It helped to smooth my tummy and waist, and it had a great underwire bra with lightweight push-up pads. For me, this was fantastic as I am still breastfeeding, so my boobies take some extra support right now. It also has silicone on top in the back, which helps keep it in place. This is one of my biggest frustrations with a lot of shapewear, as it can often roll down, creating bulges and weird lumps under your clothing. Maidenform is one of the better brands, so you don’t have to worry about yanking your briefer up all the time.
I’m also a big fan of the princess seaming that helps to create a more hourglass shape. And the convertible and removable straps mean I can wear this under a ton of different outfits. The briefer fit really well, and it was comfortable for the most part. I’m not always a fan of hook & eye crotch, but this one was not bad at all.
I’ve been wearing contact lenses since I was nine years old, and I’ve tried every brand out there, using dailies, weeklies, monthlies and extended wear. I have dry eyes that are also quite sensitive, and I have quite a demanding prescription, so I end up paying a LOT for my contacts. I am always a little concerned when trying a new brand, but these Aveo Hello contacts ended up being one of my favorite things in my BabbleBoxx!
These contact lenses give crystal-clear HD vision correction, and they have naturally bio-compatible all day hydration, UV protection and a perfect fit. They are an affordable subscription working out less than $1 a day, and they have free shipping PLUS a free first month! You can use your existing prescription OR get a new one using your smartphone!
If you’re naturally skeptical like I am, allow me to lay your fears to rest. These are comfortable and don’t dry out your eyes or aggravate sensitivity. My test for a good contact lens is that I can wear eyeliner and mascara without causing issues to my contacts, and there are very few brands this is true for. But Aveo was perfectly fine, and I am so excited to find an affordable alternative to what I am offered through my normal eye doctor.
Summer’s Eve Lavender + Camomile Cleansing Wash & Coconut Water Cleansing Cloths
Okay, I am going to be 100% honest with you here. I am not a person who necessarily uses any sort of cleansing products on my nether regions. I have always been taught that our lady bits are self-cleaning and a quick wipe in the shower is plenty to keep them going. But as part of this product review, I agreed to try out these products from Summer’s Eve.
The Lavender + Chamomile Cleansing Wash is supposed to rinse away odor-causing bacteria without leaving the feel of any residue after your shower. I tried it out, and this is true. There was no residue, and I didn’t feel like there were any issues. My fear was that I was going to end up with a bit of irritation or that my vag was going to smell like flowers, which was something I was dreading. The truth is that I felt a bit fresher, and my vag still smelled like a vag. This is a GOOD thing. I am a woman with womanly smells, and I don’t want to perfume what doesn’t need perfumed, if you get my drift. But the feeling of freshness was very welcome, and it lasted for a good amount of time after my shower, so that’s an A+ in my book.
The Coconut Water Cleansing Cloths were much more up my street. I have actually used these before, and they are a great way to refresh yourself on days when you are maybe needing a little refreshing. I keep them in my purse to use when I’m out and about. They come in individually-wrapped packets, so they’re easily transportable. They are great for hot days when you’re walking a lot and get a little sweaty. I also love them for just before and just after my period when my lady garden can be a bit whiffy.
At the end of the day, I’m really impressed with the products I was sent to review, and I really recommend trying any or all of the products mentioned. Each of these helps to create a really nice feeling, and all together they make for a great mini-makeover.
