Over the weekend, we headed out without a destination in mind, and we wound up at Disney’s Boardwalk. With all of the parks and tourist spots so close to us, we are lucky to be able to just head toward them and wind up having a great time with very little planning.
And since I love documenting everything, I was on the ball, Instagramming it all as we went. I have to say, it was a lovely evening, and Dexter was really entertained the whole time, despite there not being any characters or rides to go on. He just enjoyed running along the waterfront, jumping in the photo booths, and eating his weight in boardwalk junk food!
Enjoy the photos.

I just love this type of sign. It makes me feel warm and squishy.

The Flying Fish Cafe… I wonder what they serve?

Dex wanted a closer look at the water so stuck his head through the railings

The Surrey Bike rental stand. We are definitely trying this next time we go!

The Ferry dock. Ferries come and go, transporting you across the water.

Gazing at the Christmas tree (and trying to steal ornaments!)

Waiting in line for a funnel cake (see the anticipation??)

The most delicious funnel cake ever!
It really was a lovely evening. A couple of hours spent just walking around, enjoying the sights, sounds and smells while watching people go by. Next time, we are definitely going to try out the bicycles and the ferry ride, and possibly even make it to the other side of the lake!
For an early December evening in Florida, it really can’t be beat.

How wonderful! Just as long as Dexter gets close to the water only by sticking his head through the railings and not falling in!!
