Keeping my young boys entertained and amused is not hard when I give them toys that focus on building their hand and eye co-ordination, are imaginative, and are built to last. Some of the best toys I can recommend come from Playskool. After getting a sneak peak of some of their latest collection of “on-the-go” toys (a lightweight product line designed to be storable and portable for mom and dad that features adorable characters for baby) at Mom 2.0 back in May, they were kind enough to send me a couple great new products to review with my kids.
The first product is the Stack ‘N Stow Cups. What I like the most about the Stack ‘N Stow Cups is that less is more – I mean they are very simplistic, yet very entertaining. My son enjoys playing with them for hours. They are recommended for babies and children from the ages of 9 months and up, which is lucky since my youngest is nine months old. Amazingly, it is his two older brothers who have had the most fun with these cups! They hardly give their brother the chance to play with them!
They are bright and colorful, easy to see why they stimulate young children. With their easy to grasp form, it helps to prevent a child from becoming frustrated and overwhelmed. When my children play with this toy, they are able to nest them all together or stack them up. It really helps to improve their hand and eye coordination and is fun for them to play with. The Stack ‘N Stow Cups sit on an adorable lion base, and consist of seven cups that are bright and colorful. They are also easy to transport which makes them a perfect toy to take with us as we go for a car ride or out visiting.
The other toy I want to tell you about is the Roll ‘N Gears Car. This one is recommended for children from the ages of 12 months and up and is designed to look like a car. Whether we are at home with the kids or out on the road, my boys love to explore how the gears work and how the car actually moves.
This 2 in 1 portable toy features gears as wheels. My boys love to watch as they spin as the car is pushed along on the floor. It also has the option of removing the wheels. Once the wheels (gears) are removed, the boys enjoy stacking them on top of each other.
What I like about this product is that it really helps to develop their fine motor skills as I was them eagerly trying to put the gears back into their proper place once they have taken them off. They really love watching the little people move back and forth in the car as it is pushed gently across the floor.
It fits easily into the diaper bag when we are ready to head out on a road adventure. It is made of some sort of durable, safe plastic, and there are no sharp corners so there is no worry about my little ones cutting themselves as they play.
If you are looking for kid-friendly, parent-approved toys for babies and young children then I would recommend that you check out these two products from Playskool. These ones are available now, and more will be released in August!
