Have you ever thought about the possibility of going No Poo? No, it has nothing to do with your bowels, I promise! Instead, it is the idea of going without shampoo anymore. The idea has intrigued me for YEARS, and I’ve spent a heck of a long time wanting to try it. Six or seven years ago, I gave it a go, but I only made it three days before succumbing to vanity and going straight back to the chemical goodness of my favorite shampoo brand.
But one of my New Years resolutions for 2014 is a chemical detox. Not just detoxing through what I eat and drink, but detoxing from all chemicals. And that means no shampoos, conditioners, deodorants, lotions, products, etc. Makeup will be allowed, but my hope is that eventually I can phase out all the non-organic, all natural products in my collection.
So the first stage in my detox is getting rid of my hair regimen. And I’ll be honest – it is BRUTAL. Right now, I’m on Day 12, and I’m going a little crazy. But I feel it is important to stick to it, and so I am going to do so. And since I’m all about sharing things, I will be chronicling my progress here.
So I have been trying to take photos and keep a little diary each day, and I will try to update once a week for a while so you can see what I’m doing and how I fare.

So there you go. A week worth of No Poo. As I said, I’m actually on Day 12 now, so once I finish my second week, I’ll update again. I even have a video to share of my experience with Henna Hair Dye! We shall see how it turns out!
