When I was a little girl, I used to watch in wonder as my mother would get ready each day. As a lifelong redhead, her skin was exceptionally sensitive to the environment, so she was forever applying hydrating moisturizers to her face. The little glass bottle of pink liquid seemed to change her complexion just seconds after applying. She went from looking tired and dull to vibrant and bright. Morning and night she would apply the lotion to her face, reminding me as she did to always take care of my skin. She stressed the importance of hydration, explaining that age, smoking and even pollution in the air was always working against us. She reminded me that when applying face cream or makeup, one should always move their fingers in an upward motion – “gravity does enough to pull us down,” she’d say. “Don’t give it any extra help.”
This was my introduction to the Olay brand. My mother’s daily rituals instilled in me a fascination with beauty that might otherwise have gone unacknowledged. I spent hours each day playing with makeup in front of our bathroom mirror. You can imagine how frustrating this was for our family of six when there was only one bathroom in the house. I’d put on my mother’s Olay, and then I’d slather myself in as much makeup as I could fit on my cherubic face. I’d admire myself for a while, and then I’d use the cold cream in the medicine cabinet to remove it all, following up with another dousing of Olay.
Now, in my mid-thirties, the same age as my mother was then, I find my boys watching closely as I perform my daily beauty rituals. They often ask to take part, and I don’t mind telling you that I have no qualms about giving them each a dollop of face cream to make them feel included.
A few days ago, my oldest asked me why I use face cream. At the time, I was putting on my Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, a new product I’ve been trying out for the last few weeks. I found myself repeating the lessons my mother had taught me as a child. I told him that every woman wants to feel beautiful, and part of that is taking care of our skin, nourishing it so that we can feel good about ourselves. He still seemed confused. “But mommy, you’re the most beautiful lady in the whole world,” he flattered me. “You are already perfect!”
My heart lightened at his obvious love of his mama. But I could see that he still didn’t understand. I tried to speak his language. My little man loves to draw and paint, so I likened it to priming a canvas. “I try and make sure my skin is protected. That way if I want to paint it – with makeup for instance – my canvas will be primed and ready to look its best.” This seemed to satisfy him, and I was glad to have helped him understand the ways of women.
I’ve used a lot of different face creams and lotions in my day. Olay has been a staple in my home for as long as I can remember. Though I have explored other brands, I always come back to the tried and true products I love. Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream isn’t just an anti-aging cream but is a moisturizing and plumping powerhouse. It’s the perfect product for young women who want to help slow down the aging process before it starts.
I will admit that despite my mother’s best warnings, it took me until I hit thirty before I took my skin hydration seriously. I’d always put on some lotion after a bath and that was it. It seemed like enough. But once I started having children and finding less time for beauty routines, I suddenly learned just how important it really is.
A well-meaning friend introduced me to a very expensive night and day skin regime a couple of years ago. I shelled out the exorbitant sum of money because I trusted her opinion that it was worth the price. And while it was okay, I found that I wasn’t really willing to pay such a large price for only semi-decent results. Once again, I came back to the brand I trusted. Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is genuinely everything I want in a face cream. An independent test by the Good Housekeeping Institute showed that Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream outperforms 10 top prestige creams, including one with a $440 price tag! I can’t even pretend to surprise, as it was exactly my experience with it, too!
If I had to give advice to my younger self, it would be the same as I’d give any young woman right now – it is much easier to prevent the signs of aging than to reverse them. Once those wrinkles set in, it is harder to hide them. Your best bet it is to start using Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream as part of your daily beauty routine before you have concerns. Of course, if you’re like me and the signs of aging have already taken a toll, this cream will still be the best thing you can do for yourself. My skin looks far more supple than it did even two weeks ago. I can only imagine the changes that are still to come.
Want proof? Here’s the best I can offer. As far as my face goes, I’ve been really self-conscious for the last few years about the prominent crease between my eyebrows. It gives me a constantly angry appearance, and it bothers me because I don’t see myself that way. Makeup doesn’t erase it – it usually makes it more prominent! And no other product has even remotely been able to hide it.
Look at the difference! Using Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream twice a day (morning and night) has softened the line remarkably. Not to mention that my skin feels softer, more supple and more pleasantly plump! My makeup goes on more smoothly, and it doesn’t cake up or dry my face out like it used to.
There is so much to love about this product, and I can’t recommend it enough to anyone who is in need of an affordable, quality face cream suitable for everyday use.
