HURRAY! I have reached the third trimester! I am in the home stretch! The next big milestone is… BIRTH! I might be slightly terrified right now, but I’m also extremely excited.
This week has been a bit more fun than the last few. We took a trip to Sea World, and Mark spent loads of time trying to get some pretty pictures of me and the bump. It was kind of fun, but I think that we’ll have to do it when I’m a bit further along, as it’ll look better.
I also have made a new friend (gasp! nooooo… surely NOT!) this week. A wonderfuly lady in my building who has a 7 week old daughter who is TRULY adorable. 🙂 It is lovely to be around a newborn again and know that I don’t have to be broody because I’ll soon have one of my own to hold and love. In the mean time, I am feeling AMAZED at how tiny babies really are! I know that Dexter was itty bitty when he was born, but somehow I just can’t imagine him THAT small!
I’ve been going through old photos on my laptop and finally getting them in some order. It is a sad fact that I am incapable of taking less than 700 photos at a time. And I have such a phobia of getting rid of any of them. So I’m being quite brutal, going through folders and deleting any pictures which are blurry or off kilter or just not good quality. It’ll take me quite a while to go through them all, but the plan is to keep only the best so that I can free up lots of space and have excellent photos which I’d be proud to print off. To that end, I actually got one of my other blogs up and running. HerChild.com is now going to be a photo blog where I upload high quality versions of all of my photos. Again, it will take a while, but it’ll be a nice place to have all the photos in one place for family and friends to view.
Anyway, back to the matter at hand. This week the baby has been kicking like a mini David Beckham. It’s very disconcerting at times when he kicks my cervix and sends an electric shock to my system! He does that a lot. But I’m really enjoying watching my tummy move all over the place. Especially in the bath tub.
Just this morning, I was balancing a cup of coffee on my tummy when he suddenly kicked straight up and sent it sloshing all over the place. Atta boy! Feeling how strong he is is a HUGE reassurance. Given the issues we’ve been having and the worries I feel about what might be wrong with him when he’s born, I get a big smile knowing that he seems to be quite a little fighter. I can’t wait to meet him!
This week’s official bump photo is right here. I feel a bit like my belly has dropped a bit, which is slightly worrying given that I’m also having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions. But I’m sure all is well.
The biggest worry I have is going into labor early again. It happened at 33 weeks last time, and I worry about it happening again.
Anyway, the good news is that I’m beginning to feel like my energy might be picking up again. While I’m still not sleeping particularly well, and I did have some sinus issues keeping me down this week, overall I feel more ready to face the world and get out and about. This is fab, as I’ve been so all over the place with tiredness lately. I’m hoping to be able to get out to the theme parks over the next couple of weeks so that we can experience Christmas at Disney and the rest. Since we’re going to be in Utah for the holidays, I feel the need to get in as much Florida Christmas as possible.
That’s probably about it this week. Sorry I’m all over the place. My pregnancy brain is kicking in and making it hard to concentrate. Plus, I’ve just had to fish a peanut out of my son’s ear and a raisin out of his nose. There’s no doubt he’s my kid.
