I’m a sucker for a good accessory. And if it can serve as more than just a bit of bling, I’m especially fond of it. One of the main reasons I don’t wear a lot of jewelry these days is that my eight month old son likes to yank on anything that hangs from anywhere on my body. Necklaces, bracelets, and even dangling earrings have been pulled right off of me in the past, and it’s made me a bit shy about wearing my favorite pieces. Thankfully, I discovered Qalo teething necklaces – stylish jewelry that keeps baby’s gums soothed and busy little hands occupied.
Qalo teething necklaces come in a variety of styles, and they are great for moms and dads alike. There are three designs available, including Dog Tag, V Pendant and Hex and Barrel. They come in a variety of colors, which appeal to men and women equally.
The necklaces are made from food grade silicon, which is totally safe for baby, and it’s also really tough and resilient, meaning they won’t break off in your little one’s mouth when they chew it! The cord is also made of durable nylon paracord, which will withstand even the toughest tugs. The snap closure comes apart easily, so if your baby yanks it, it’s not going to hurt your neck. It also means you can let your baby wear it without fear of him choking himself. You should always supervise, though!
One thing I truly love about these necklaces is how stylish they are. While they serve a great function for teething babies, they can easily be worn on their own to accessorize any outfit. I absolutely adore my V Pendant, which I got in a beautiful teal color. You can actually have your necklace inscribed with a word or phrase that is meaningful to you. I chose “grá mo chroí,” which means “The Love of My Heart.” You might remember that this phrase is very meaningful to me, as I actually have a Celtic motherhood tattoo representing the same phrase!
Besides the V Pendant, I also opted to get the cool-looking Hex and Barrel necklace in tones of grey, black and white. I wanted something my husband would feel comfortable wearing, and I feel like it’s quite a unisex piece. Plus, it’s got movable parts which appeal to the baby.
In all, I really think these necklaces are a great addition to my baby-proof jewelry collection, and I highly recommend them to other moms who might be looking for statement pieces to add to their accessories.
At the end of the day, bonding with your baby is so important, and there are tons of ways to do it. Having a connection through cute jewelry is a great way to keep your baby happy when he’s near you. And if you have a baby girl, you can even give her one of the necklaces when she’s older! Even my older boys have been asking if they can wear them!
