We have a nice patio area with lots of room for a big table, but most outdoor dining sets are crazy expensive.
Hardware stores like Lowes or Home Depot sell picnic tables, but they are the traditional versions – cheap, mass produced and very small.
With four boys and an extended family, we needed something much larger and sturdier.
This picnic table is made using construction grade lumber and no angles. It's simple for a beginner, and it's pretty inexpensive.
It's extremely sturdy, seats 10 -12 people and makes a beautiful addition to the yard.
Since it's so easy to put together, even little kids can help.
Fair warning - it can get pretty heavy, so it helps to have strong sons to help lift it!
