Since we moved into this house nearly four years ago, we’ve had to replace our refrigerator and microwave because they were outdated. It’s been my personal goal to update ALL of our appliances for the simple reason that they are all original to the house! That’s right – our dishwasher, ovens and stove are all nearly 30 years old! Eep!
Of course, there have been other expenses along the way that have kept us from being able to upgrade – like our furnaces and both air conditioners needing replaced over the last two years! But next on our list is replacing our old, broken dishwasher, and I’ve got my new one picked out and ready to buy!
As usual, we get all of our appliances at Best Buy because we have always had amazing experiences there. For customer service, price and quality, we genuinely don’t feel that anyone can do better. So after a lot of research, we decided to go for the Bosch 800 Series dishwasher at Best Buy, and here’s why.
As a mom of four, we go through a TON of dishes every day. And my kids aren’t known for being careful with how they load the dishwasher (though I guess I should be grateful they actually help out with dishes at all, right?).
Similarly, they don’t look really closely at the dishes they put away. So often when I reach for a dish in the cupboard, I pull out something that is full of dried on food that didn’t quite get cleaned in the last load.
Most of the time, the drying cycle doesn’t work well either. And we’ve had occasions where someone stacked wet cups on one another, and we pulled them apart to find mold growing inside! GROSS!
But my biggest issue with our dishwasher is the fact that it keeps getting smelly. Like really smelly. It stinks the whole house up, and we have to go through a whole process to decontaminate it. And don’t get me started on the fact that my beautiful oak wood floors have warped due to water leakage!
So when considering what new dishwasher to buy, I made a list of what I wanted from the appliance. It had to get things REALLY clean. It has to dry dishes well. It can’t leak or smell. And it can’t be noisy! Our kitchen opens onto our living room, and if the dishwasher is going, we have to turn the TV up LOUD to be able to hear.
And finally – it has to fit six people’s daily dishes so we aren’t constantly having to run load after load to keep up.
The Bosch 800 Series dishwasher ticks all the boxes. It has CrystalDry ™ technology for the ultimate clean and dry. The CrystalDry technology actually transforms moisture into heat up to 176F so that even plastics get completely dry.
It has PrecisionWash, intelligent sensors that continually scan and check the progress of dishes throughout the cycle to ensure every item gets totally clean.
Sanitize Option reduces 99.9% of bacteria with Patented CrystalDry™ technology delivers 60% better drying results.*
*Based on aggregate average drying performance of Bosch Dishwashers with CrystalDry on combined household load including plastics, glass, steel, and porcelain as compared to Bosch Dishwashers with PureDry. Drying performance may vary by dish type.
It is super quiet and incorporates 18 unique sound-reducing technologies including multiple insulation layers, grindless food filtration and a sound absorbing base!
It’s got a large interior and can easily accommodate 16 place settings! HALLELUJAH! Even better, Bosch’s largest 3rd rack – the MyWay rack – provides additional loading space for cereal bowls and large utensils.
Rackmatic® adjustable upper rack easily adjusts to 9 different positions, to allow taller items like stemware to fit in the middle rack while leaving room for bulky items below.
The flip tines make loading wide bowls easy and ball bearing wheels provide a smooth glide.
And since we are a home that tries to be as green as possible, I love that every Bosch dishwasher is ENERGY STAR qualified and meets or exceeds federal guidelines, for year-round energy savings.
Basically, this is the dishwasher of our dreams, and I’m super excited at the prospect of replacing our old, battered dishwasher with this sleek new one.
